Understand the terms for using CausalLens, including AI analysis, credits, subscriptions, and account responsibilities.
Last updated: 2026/10/24
Welcome to CausalLens. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the CausalLens website, applications, and related services.
CausalLens is an AI-powered causal analysis platform designed to help users explore potential causes, effects, relationships, and supporting evidence through interactive visualizations.
By creating an account or using CausalLens, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the service.
CausalLens provides tools for exploring complex questions through AI-assisted causal analysis.
Depending on your account and available features, the service may include:
We may improve, modify, or discontinue features as the platform evolves, subject to applicable law and any commitments associated with paid subscriptions.
CausalLens uses artificial intelligence and third-party information sources to generate analytical content.
AI-generated outputs may contain inaccuracies, incomplete information, unsupported assumptions, or misleading relationships.
A visualized causal relationship does not, by itself, establish that causation has been scientifically or statistically proven.
Evidence assessments and source references are intended to assist your evaluation. They do not guarantee the accuracy, reliability, relevance, or completeness of any source or conclusion.
You are responsible for independently reviewing important findings before relying on them.
CausalLens should not be treated as a substitute for professional legal, medical, financial, scientific, or other specialized advice.
Certain features require an account.
When registering, you agree to:
You are responsible for activities conducted through your account, except where responsibility cannot lawfully be assigned to you.
You may request assistance with account-related issues through our Contact page.
CausalLens uses a credit-based system for certain AI-powered operations.
Credits represent usage allowances within the platform. They are not money, cryptocurrency, or transferable financial assets.
Eligible newly registered accounts receive 60 Free Credits.
These credits do not expire under the current Free plan rules.
The following usage costs currently apply:
| Operation | Credits |
|---|---|
| Complete Causal Analysis | 20 |
| Explore expansion | 20 |
| View saved History | 0 |
| Reopen an existing saved analysis | 0 |
| Export an analysis | 0 |
Evidence retrieval and assessment are included in the applicable Analysis or Explore operation and are not charged separately.
When the same signed-in user submits an identical question that already has a successfully saved analysis, CausalLens may reuse the existing result without charging additional Analysis Credits.
Usage costs may change for future operations or plans. Material changes will be communicated as required by applicable law.
Credits are generally deducted for successfully completed, billable operations.
CausalLens uses safeguards intended to prevent duplicate charges for the same request and to release reserved credits when a qualifying operation fails.
If you believe credits were deducted incorrectly, please contact us.
CausalLens currently offers the following Pro subscription options:
| Plan | Price |
|---|---|
| Pro Monthly | $19.90 per month |
| Pro Annual | $199 per year |
The Pro plan currently includes 2,000 Credits per monthly entitlement period, including for annual subscribers.
Pro Credits are associated with the applicable subscription entitlement period and do not roll over after expiration.
When both Free and Pro Credits are available, CausalLens may use credits approaching expiration before permanent Free Credits.
The checkout page will display the applicable subscription price and payment details before purchase. Any applicable taxes or additional charges will be shown where required.
Paid subscriptions are processed through our third-party payment provider, Creem.
Unless canceled, subscriptions renew automatically at the end of the applicable billing period.
By purchasing a recurring subscription, you authorize the payment provider to charge the applicable recurring amount using your selected payment method, subject to the terms presented during checkout.
For annual subscriptions, payment is billed annually, while the included Pro Credits are allocated according to the applicable monthly entitlement periods.
We do not directly collect or store your complete payment card details.
You may cancel automatic renewal through the available subscription management features.
Canceling a subscription generally stops future renewals. It does not automatically terminate access to benefits already paid for.
Under the current subscription rules, Pro benefits remain available until the end of the paid subscription period, unless the subscription is refunded, disputed, or otherwise invalidated.
Unused Pro Credits expire according to their applicable entitlement periods.
Permanent Free Credits are not affected by ordinary subscription cancellation.
Refund requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Refund approval is not guaranteed and depends on the circumstances of the purchase, applicable payment-provider policies, and applicable consumer protection laws.
To request a refund, please contact us through our Contact page. Include sufficient information to identify the relevant purchase and explain the reason for your request.
When reviewing refund requests, we may consider factors such as the purchase date, service usage, duplicate charges, technical failures, and whether the purchased service was delivered as described.
Approved refunds are processed through the original payment provider and payment method, subject to applicable processing requirements.
Canceling a subscription stops future automatic renewals but does not automatically refund previous payments. Unless otherwise required by law or the applicable payment terms, paid benefits remain available until the end of the paid subscription period.
When a full refund is confirmed, CausalLens may revoke the associated subscription benefits and unused Pro Credits. Credits already consumed will not create a negative credit balance solely because of a refund. Free registration credits remain unaffected.
Payment disputes, chargebacks, suspected fraud, or reversed payments may result in suspension or adjustment of the associated paid entitlements, subject to applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms limits any refund or cancellation rights that cannot legally be excluded.
You retain your rights in the questions, materials, and other content you submit to CausalLens.
You grant CausalLens a limited, non-exclusive permission to process submitted content as reasonably necessary to provide the requested services, including generating analyses, retrieving supporting evidence, storing results, and displaying saved History.
Your questions and relevant analysis data may be processed by third-party AI and search providers as described in our Privacy Policy.
You should not submit confidential, sensitive, or third-party personal information unless you are authorized to do so and understand the associated processing.
You are responsible for ensuring that content you submit does not violate applicable law or the rights of others.
The CausalLens website, branding, software, interface design, and other original platform materials are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Except as permitted by law or expressly authorized, you may not copy, resell, reverse engineer, or commercially exploit the underlying platform software.
You may use and export analysis outputs made available through your account for lawful purposes, subject to third-party rights, source licenses, and these Terms.
CausalLens does not guarantee that AI-generated content is unique, copyrightable, or free from similarities to content generated for other users.
You agree not to:
We may take proportionate action to prevent abuse and protect the platform and its users.
CausalLens relies on third-party services for certain functions, including AI processing, evidence retrieval, hosting, authentication-related integrations, email delivery, database infrastructure, and payments.
These services may have their own terms and privacy policies.
We are not responsible for third-party websites or content outside our control, except as required by applicable law.
For more information about relevant service providers and personal information processing, see our Privacy Policy.
We work to maintain a reliable service, but uninterrupted availability cannot be guaranteed.
Temporary interruptions may occur because of maintenance, infrastructure incidents, third-party service failures, or other circumstances.
We may modify features, models, integrations, and usage limits as the service develops.
Where changes materially affect paid services, we will provide notice or remedies as required by applicable law.
We may suspend or restrict access when reasonably necessary to address security threats, fraudulent activity, payment abuse, serious violations of these Terms, or legal requirements.
Where appropriate, we may provide notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue.
You may stop using the service at any time and may use available account deletion functionality.
Account deletion, data retention, and applicable exceptions are described in our Privacy Policy.
Termination does not eliminate obligations or rights that must survive under applicable law.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, CausalLens is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
We do not warrant that AI-generated analyses, evidence assessments, or visualized relationships will be accurate, complete, uninterrupted, or suitable for a particular decision.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CausalLens will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the service.
This limitation does not apply where liability cannot legally be excluded or restricted.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, or other matters for which exclusion is prohibited by applicable law.
We may update these Terms to reflect changes in our services, business operations, or legal requirements.
When changes are made, we will publish the updated Terms on this page and revise the effective date.
Where required by applicable law, we will provide additional notice before material changes take effect.
If you have questions about these Terms, subscriptions, Credits, billing, or your account, please contact us.
